TOP ONLINE COLOR SCHEME GENERATORS

Picking a nice color combination can be a challenge for any kind of artist.  If you are a fashion designer, finding the best color combos is crucial. Not long ago, you had to sharpen your eyes with years of practice to build nice color schemes. However, things became much easier today. Pick your favorite color scheme generator or two to assist you with building harmonious color palettes. Moreover, working with these apps is so inspirational 😀

COOLORS

This is one of my favorite web apps. It is very simple in use. You can endlessly generate random color schemes. Moreover, you can also input your own colors and lock them. Then when you push “space” the system will generate matching colors. Let’s say you have a fantastic purple skirt of #9715bc (hex code for a color) and a black jacket #000000. Here is one of many color schemes that will perfectly work with those hues

PICTACULOUS

Since many artists get inspired by paintings or photography, there is an app that lets you build a color palette based on a specific image. It is Pictaculous! Here is a scheme that the app suggested to me after analyzing my illustration

PIGMENT

You can pick and modify their own beautiful color combinations. Or you can search for specific colors and find image-based color matches.

COLORDOT

I love Colordot color scheme generator because using it is so fun! You just move your mouse over the screen and see how colors continuously change. When you find the color that you love, you click to save it. Next, you can pick more colors. I found it very calming and intuitive. Plus it is super easy to use.

ADOBE COLOR CC

One more super powerful color scheme generator from Adobe. Being leaders in developing software for creatives, they made this tool quite versatile. You can choose a color rule for your scheme: analogous, chromatic, triad, etc. Then you can play with a color wheel changing hues and values to get the desired color combination.
